Recognising Our Community Leaders Walk Nomination Form

 

Know Someone Who Deserves Recognition?

If you know a local resident who deserves to be recognised for their contribution to the local area, nominate them for inclusion in the Recognising our Community Leaders Walk at Bondi and Bronte beaches. The Walk commenced in 2005 and recognizes local people who have made a life-long contribution to the Waverley area. So far three plaques have been installed on the walk.

You can nominate someone who is living or deceased, as long as they have made an outstanding contribution to the Waverley area. The following criteria, while a guide only, will give you an idea of the selection standards:

A successful nominee may have:

  • Made an outstanding contribution to the local community or environment
  • contributed significantly to the social or cultural quality of the local area, helping make Waverley what it is today
  • displayed courage and bravery
  • received widespread community recognition
  • achieved iconic status or become a ‘local legend’
  • earned far reaching, national or international success, such as Olympic coaching or acclaim in their chosen field
  • been an unsung hero who gave freely to, or made a sacrifice for the good of, the community with no expectation of reward

All nominees must have served the community of Waverley and must be, or have been, residents of Waverley.
