Elaine Keenan

I came to Australia from Scotland over 30 years ago to work as a Registered Nurse and have been living in the Waverley area since 1993. I worked in several different areas of nursing including Accident and Emergency, HIV/AIDs, Community Health and Aged Care Management. I have a BA in Business majoring in Industrial Relations and post grad qualifications in Ethics and Legal Studies, Aged Care Management and Project Management.

After nursing I moved into a career in Industrial Relations and worked for six years as an Officer at Marrickville/Inner West Council, where I gained huge experience and insights into the vast variety of important work carried out for the community by Councils, and which stated my great interest and passion for local government. This experience has been invaluable in my role as a Lawson Councillor. I now work full time for a large public sector agency.

I am excited that I will be sitting on various Council Committees and I am looking forward to continuing with our progressive agenda and continuing our work to reduce Council’s emissions through our various initiatives. And I’m looking forward to again working with the General Manager and her staff to further improve our community.
