Volunteering

Fancy a bit of Bushcare? What about helping people in an emergency? Volunteering covers many activities – find out how to volunteer your time, resources and passion here.

Bushcare volunteers work with trained bush regenerators to restore remnant bushland areas in Waverley.

Help deliver meals to people who are frail, aged or have a disability and help them continue living at home.

Help support library services, events and special projects, such as conserving the Bondi Mermaid.

Do you have a special skill to share? You can assist with craft, exercise and other activities or just help out with morning tea.

History buffs will love identifying monuments for restoration, conducting guided tours and raising community awareness about Waverley Cemetery’s
incredible history.

Take part in search and rescue services and help people in strife by joining the SES.

If you are aged between 13 and 23, we
want your ideas.

Nothing grabs your fancy? Try one of these exciting ideas instead:

  • Get to know your neighbours and help create a friendly and safer local community.
  • Plant a footpath garden click here, adopt a street tree click here or cultivate a beautiful garden to create a welcoming and green environment.
  • Attend or participate in local events. Click here for upcoming Council events.
  • For more ideas try Good Company , Go Volunteer or VAST, the Volunteer and Service Training organisation for home care in the eastern suburbs.
