Waverley Community & Seniors Centre
Waverley Community and Seniors Centre aims to provide:
- A welcoming and friendly atmosphere
- A variety of activities which reflect the interest of the 50+
- Activities and programs for people over 50 years of age and for people who have difficulty getting out and about on their own.
Waverley Council operates the Centre with funding from the Home and Community Care (HACC)Program. Waverley Community and Seniors Association Inc provides support to the Centre.

Weekly Lifestyle classes held at the Centre (Cost $5):
Light aerobics, fitness/weights classes, pilates mats, yoga (in daily life, hatha/dru and Iyengar), Tai Chi, Step Steady for 70+ (program for preventing falls), line dancing, square dancing and ballroom and Latin style dancing classes are open to men and women over the age of fifty. ‘Move it or lose It’ classes are specifically designed for men.
Social and educational activities:
Scrabble, bridge, painting and drawing, arts and crafts, ‘Wrap with love’ knitting group, indoor bowls, Italian, French and German beginners language classes are also held for a fee of $5. The University of 3rd Age (U3A) run advanced Spanish and German language classes, to enrol with U3A please ring 9252 2033.

Bingo, gentle chair exercise/social, fortnightly social outings.
Culturally and linguistically diverse groups (CALD):
Weekly Italian Social & Greek speaking social activities, exercise class and outings. Monthly War Veterans Social group also meet here.
Health Clinic:
Remedial massage, foot massage, Bowen therapy and podiatry service is provided for a small fee.
Membership:
Membership is available to people over fifty living in the local government areas of Waverley, Woollahra, Sydney, Randwick and Botany. Membership Fees: $8 one year. Membership form can be obtained by ringing our office.

Other activities for Seniors
Waverley Library offers special services for older people including the Home Library Service. Bondi Pavilion hosts monthly seniors concerts. Computer Pals holds regular activities for seniors interested in learning about computers.
