Meals on Wheels & Shopping Service

The Waverley Meals on Wheels and Shopping Service is funded by Waverley Council and the NSW Home and Community Care (HACC) Program.

The aim of the service is to enable people to continue to live comfortably in their home.

Am I eligible for these services?

If you are frail aged, have a disability or care for someone who is frail aged or has a disability, you are welcome to use our service on a short or long term basis.

What Services are available?

  • Daily Meals: Delivered Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. Meals are delivered chilled, include a dessert and fruit juice, and cost $5.50.
  • Frozen Meals: Delivered weekly. The cost is $4.50 without dessert and juice, or $5.50 with dessert and juice.

What if I have specialist dietary requirements?

Please speak with the Coordinator regarding any special dietary requirements (tel. 9386 7977). We can cater for people with diabetes, gluten intolerances and chewing or swallowing difficulties. We can also provide vegetarian and culturally appropriate meals.

Are Meals provided on weekends or public holidays?

Our service does not deliver on weekends or public holidays. You can order frozen meals in to cover those days.

Shopping Service
We provide an Internet Shopping Service via Coles On Line. This is ideal for your heavy & bulky shopping requirements. Coles has set a minimum purchase amount of $50.00; Council subsidises the cost of home shopping deliveries by $3.45.

Other services and information
We provide referrals and information on a range of issues. Please contact us if you would like further information on local services providing transport, home nursing, home care or activities at the Waverley Community & Seniors Centre. Further information is available in Council’s Directory of Services for Older People. For a hard copy of the Directory call 9386 7999.

Contact our Coordinator to obtain a list of the meals that are available.
