Tamarama Pocket Park Group
A group of enthusiastic local residents have formed a planting group under the ‘Pocket Park’ model at Tamarama Park and Gully. The group meets four times each year to carry out planting related activities outlined in their Action Plan, with support and supervision from Council.
The first planting day took place on a very warm Saturday afternoon on 12 November 2011. It has been a great success with turf grasses and Watsonias removed from around the Birrel Street stairs, and replaced with a range of indigenous rainforest species. These actions are part of the Tamarama Ecological Restoration Framework and Action Plan (Tamarama ERFAP).The scheduled dates for the group in 2012 are as follows:
