The Small Grants Program

If you have a great idea that would benefit the local community, environment or streets but need some assistance to get it off the ground, Waverley’s Small Grants may be able to help you.  To find out more about this program see the Small Grants Overview

Waverley Council offers three program areas under the Small Grants Program that welcomes small community initiatives in the Waverley local government area:

Funding Available

Council allocates funds of up to $100,000 each financial year for small grants, spread over two funding rounds. This includes up to $10,000 for environmental grants. Individuals and organisations meeting the program criteria can apply for one grant per round, up to the value of $3,000. Grants over this amount may be made in special circumstances. Round 2 closing 1 April 2016 also includes for the first time a $6,000 allocation for Creative Streets.

Assessment Process

Council officers will assess project proposals against to objectives and anticipated outcomes in accordance with program criteria. A report with recommendations for funding will be submitted for Council consideration and approval. After Council has made a decision, we will contact applicants about the outcome of their application. The assessment and approval process takes about 8 weeks from the closing date for each round.
