About Youth Services

The Waverley area has a range of services targeting the 8589[1] young people aged 12- 24  who live locally.  These include a youth centre, outreach services, accommodation programs, counselling and employment programs.

Council is committed to ensuring a good range of quality services for these young people. Services are provided directly or through financial or other support to local services or groups.

Each year Youth Week activities include Bondi Blitz, the WAYS Youth Forum, surf clinics and basketball competitions. At least 5 live music events are held each year usually at Bondi Pavilion.

Council provides financial or management support to local Out of School Hour Services, WAYS, Bondi Outreach Project, Bondi Youth Accommodation and the Safe Summer Survival Project. With Woollahra Council, we oversee the Waverley Woollahra Youth Advisory Council for 13 to 23 year olds.

This year's Global Table event will feature an all-youth line up of musicians and performers, as well as interactive activities for young people and families.  Waverley Council will also be liaising with the World Youth Day committee in organising the "Unity Youth event" at Bondi Beach park in July.

In addition to this, Council, with the support of the Waverley Woollahra Youth Advisory Council will be running a Living Library project to celebrate International Youth Day.
