The Waverley/Woollahra Youth Advisory Council was re-established in October 2004. Membership includes young people aged 13 – 23 who live, work or go to school in the area. Youth participation and involvement is important for Waverley Council. Council needs advice from young people about what is important in their community.
This informal group meets monthly, usually the first Tuesday of the month at the Mill Hill Centre from 4.15 –5.45pm, but also has an extensive e-mail list for those community minded young people who want to keep informed.
In 2005 the WWYAC is actively involved in assisting with the organisation and running of Youth Week 2005 including the WAYS Youth Forum on 31 March 2005 and Bondi Blitz on Saturday 9 April 2005 at Bondi Beach.
Other issues presently under consideration include: Under 18 dance parties, Bondi Live Youth Music Project Events, Bondi Junction Youth Protocol and advising on the Bondi Beach skate park. Other issues will be decided upon by the membership.
