Waverley Community and Seniors Centre Association Inc.

Waverley Community and Seniors Centre aims to provide:

Waverley Council operates the Centre with funding from the Home and Community Care (HACC)Program. Waverley Community and seniors Association Inc provides support to the Centre.

Weekly Lifestyle classes held at the Centre (Cost $5):

Light Aerobics, fitness/weights am and pm classes, Pilates mats, yoga (in daily life, hatha/dru and Iyengar), Heartmoves (run by the Heart Foundation), Step Steady program for 70+, Tai Chi and line dancing classes.

Social and educational activities:

Scrabble, Bridge, painting and drawing, arts and crafts, ‘Wrap with love’ – knitting group, history, the University of 3rd Age (U3A) classes – Italian, Spanish, German and creative writing. Holiday tours and monthly coach tours.

HACC funded programs (transport provided):

Bingo, Gentle Chair exercise/social, fortnightly social outings.

Culturally and linguistically diverse groups (CALD):

Italian, Hungarian, Greek speaking social activities, exercise class and outings.

Health Clinic:

Remedial massage, foot massage, podiatry and bowen therapy.

Membership:

Membership is available to people over fifty living in the local government areas of Waverley, Woollahra, Sydney, Randwick and Botany. Membership Fees: $8 one year and $15 two years. Membership form can be obtained by ringing our office.

Other activities for Seniors

Waverley Library offers special services for older people including the Home Library Service. Bondi Pavilion hosts monthly Seniors concerts. Computer Pals holds regular activities for Seniors interested in learning about computers.
