About Services for Older People

Seniors Newsletter:

About 22% of Waverley’s residents are aged over 55, and that percentage is predicted to increase over the next 20 years. Waverley Council supports or directly provides a range of services for its older residents, which are aimed at promoting their independence, health and well-being. Council’s Community and Seniors Centre in Spring St Bondi Junction offers a wide range of activities and services for older people, including exercise classes, podiatry and massage, bus outings, discussion groups, social get-togethers and a Meals on Wheels and Shopping Service. Also located in this building is the local Community Transport service which caters especially for frail older residents, people with a disability and carers

Waverley Library offers special services for older people including the Home Library Service.

Bondi Pavilion hosts monthly Seniors concerts.

If you require general information and contact details for services for older people in the Waverley area Council produces a Directory of Services for Older People in Waverley which is updated annually.

We also publish a brochure of Home and Community Care Services for people living in Waverley.

There are a number of services available to members of our Jewish Community. Click here for more information about Jewish organisations which help older people.
