

Community Worker
The
Community Worker for Older People and Access assists with the
coordination, development, planning and management of services for older
people living in Waverley and can provide general information and
referral to local services for older people and people with
disabilities.
The Community Worker is primarily responsible for:
- researching
the needs of older people and Waverley and assisting Council in
planning to meet those needs
- maintaining
up-to-date information on local services available for older people.
A Directory
of Services for Older People is updated annually and is a
resource for older people and providers of services for older
people.
- convening a monthly meeting of aged service providers which aims to share
information, jointly plan and coordinate services.
- providing management support to community organisations providing services to
older people
- resourcing Council’s Access Committee which
aims to make Waverley accessible to all people regardless of ability
or disability.
