Waverley Planning Review

The Waverley Planning Review is underway and the exhibition period of draft versions of the principal documents for controlling land use and development at a local level is now over. The relevant plans for the review were on public exhibition 19 October - 30 November 2011.

Next steps

It is envisaged a report, outlining submissions received during the exhibition period and recommending the draft LEP be forwarded to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DPI) for approval, will go to Council for consideration in March 2012. A separate report addressing submissions received for the draft DCP will be considered by Council following adoption of the draft LEP.

Timeline

  • Review of submissions Review of all submissions. COMPLETED Dec 2011 - Feb 2012
  • Public Hearing Relating to the reclassification of ‘community land’ to ‘operational land’. COMPLETED 9 Dec 2011
  • Council Sec 68 Resolution Council reviews all submissions received, resolves to make any additional amendments to the LEP and adopts the LEP. COMPLETED March 2012
  • Sec 68 Submission A report prepared for the DPI outlining submissions received and any recommended changes to the LEP. COMPLETED April 2012
  • Gazettal The Minister for Planning approves the plan which comes into force when notified in the Government gazette. EXPECTED September 2012

Note: If Council considers amendments are significantly different to the exhibited draft LEP, a new draft may need to be re-exhibited. The Minister for Planning has the final sign off and the power to require further amendments which could delay the gazettal of the LEP.
