Swimming Pool Safety
Registering your pool
As of 29 April 2013, all pool owners in New South Wales are required to register their swimming pools on a state-wide register. There are two ways you can register your swimming pool:
You will have until 29 October 2013 to complete the registration of your pool. If you miss this deadline, you may receive a penalty fine of $220.
The register is one outcome of the NSW Government’s review of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, which saw a series of amendments to the Act aimed at improving the safety of children under the age of five years around swimming pools. For more information, please view the frequently asked questions.
