Stage 1 A Bondi Park

Work completed at Bondi Park

The following improvements have been completed:

  • Paving works
  • We have upgraded path between Campbell Parade and the Pavilion to provide direct and universal access for all users. We have also widened the footpath along the Campbell Parade park edge to increase pedestrian flow and improve views into the park
  • Relocation of two artworks
  • Surf Life Saver, by Dianna Webber, which was next to the Pavilion has moved back two metres from its former location and has been placed in a prominent purpose-built setting
  • Interpretation discs on Campbell Parade. These disks are part of Human Sundials, by Steven Russell, that were commissioned in 2008. They were removed to allow for paving works to take place and will be put back into a similar setting.

Work currently underway at Bondi Park

On Wednesday 27 January, after a brief break over the Summer holidays, work recommenced at Bondi Park. The works have been divided into four areas to allow for access to and through the site.

Remaining improvements include:

  • new lighting
  • a new irrigation system that will be connected to recycled water
  • planting new trees and turf
  • installing new outdoor furniture, including picnic tables and seats.

Timings

Work is expected to be complete in March 2016.
